Retirement of Master Equipment

Purpose

Retirement means the final decommissioning of material. For example, this can involve closing down a location, whereby material is scrapped or otherwise issued.

Prerequisites

You have set the retirementindicatorfor one or more movement types in Customizing for Defense Forces and Public Security by choosing Start of the navigation path Maintenance Next navigation step Define Allowed Movement Types End of the navigation path .

Process

  1. Choose a suitable movement type and post a goods issue for the master equipment that you want to decommission.

  2. The system removes the relationship between the master equipment and the existing relationship 820 and thereby ends the holder assignment.

Result

The master equipment no longer has any stock in the SAP system and the relationship 820 has been removed.
