Maintenance Book If you want to view maintenance data when you do not have access to an ERP system, you can use a report to combine all the relevant data in an electronic maintenance book in the form of a PDF file. This report includes the data for a selected maintenance object and all relevant documents within the selection period, such as documents for notifications and orders as well as measurement documents.
You can transfer this maintenance book in PDF format to a mobile data carrier, for example a USB stick, and display and print the maintenance book using an appropriate program.
You have configured the maintenance book types in Customizing for
Defense Forces
& Public Security
according to your requirements by choosing
. The maintenance book types
General Maintenance Book
(type A),
General Maintenance Book for
Master Equipment
(type B), and
Aircraft Accident
(type F) are available by default.
If you want to change existing maintenance book types or create new ones, you have to define the following:
Maintenance book type with an abbreviation, explanatory text, and a short text
Object type with freely definable object text
You can choose between
Equipment
and
Functional Location
when selecting the object type.
Main program
The /ISDFPS/SAPLPM_MBOOK_UI program is specified here as the default program.
Selection screen
The selection screen specifies which fields are displayed on the selection screen and which are to be filled. You can select an existing selection screen, for example 201 for master equipment, or create your own.
Subscreen file name
You can use a subscreen to supplement the selection screen as required.
Time dependency
You set this indicator to define a retention time (in days) for a maintenance book. If you do not set this indicator, the maintenance book is retained in the system indefinitely.
Storage time in days
If the indicator for the time dependency is set, the system deletes the maintenance book after the specified time automatically.
Overwritable
You can define whether an already existing maintenance book can be overwritten only if the user chooses, whether it can be overwritten immediately without being queried by the system, or whether it cannot be overwritten under any circumstances.
You require the maintenance book types defined in Customizing as filters for the Business Add-In
Maintenance Book
(/ISDFPS/BADI_PM_MBOOK) with which you can adjust the maintenance book to meet your requirements. If you define a new maintenance book type, you have to create a BAdI implementation and specify the new maintenance book type as the filter.
When you set up an output device, the same prerequisites apply as when entering an aircraft accident. For more information, see the
Prerequisites
section in the
Enter Aircraft Accident
document. This document also describes the settings you have to configure under
.
You can start the maintenance book depending on the required maintenance book type with the following transactions by accessing the SAP menu ( ):
Maintenance book - generate report (transaction /ISDFPS/PMBOOK0)
You use this transaction if you want to select maintenance book types from those defined in Customizing on the initial screen. After selecting the maintenance book type, for example
General Maintenance Book
, you go to the selection screen.
Maintenance book for equipment (transaction /ISDFPS/PMBOOK1)
You use this transaction if you want to create a maintenance book for an item of equipment. The equipment hierarchy is expanded from the highest level of the hierarchy only from the initial equipment. The initial screen for selecting the maintenance book type is skipped.
Maintenance book for master equipment (transaction /ISDFPS/PMBOOK2)
You use this transaction if you want to create a maintenance book for an item of master equipment. The equipment hierarchy is expanded from both the top and bottom of the hierarchy from the initial equipment. The initial screen for selecting the maintenance book type is skipped.
On the selection screen, you choose the object, define the selection period, and specify the output path and file name for the PDF. In the text field, you can enter a descriptive text that is copied to the cover page of the maintenance book. You start to select data and create the maintenance book by choosing
Format Data
. The PDF file is then available in the specified path. You can display this file immediately.
The following objects are displayed for equipment and master equipment for maintenance books:
Equipment (initial equipment according to selection)
Equipment hierarchy
Items of equipment from hierarchy
Functional locations from hierarchy
Maintenance orders for initial equipment
Maintenance notifications for initial equipment
Maintenance orders for items of equipment and functional locations from the hierarchy
Maintenance notifications for items of equipment and functional locations from the hierarchy
Measurement documents for initial equipment and items of equipment and functional locations from hierarchy
(Order) confirmations for initial equipment and items of equipment and functional locations from hierarchy
Result list of configuration check (
Configuration Control Workbench
(transaction CCM2)) for initial equipment
Maintenance plans and items for initial equipment
Maintenance plans and items for items of equipment and functional locations from hierarchy
If you want to display an overview of the existing maintenance books, enter the corresponding object on the selection screen of the transaction and choose
Overview
. Select the required maintenance book from the list and display it on the screen by choosing the
Output
pushbutton.
If you want to adjust the maintenance book, you can use the Business Add-In
Maintenance Book
(/ISDFPS/BADI_PM_MBOOK). You can use this to limit the database selection, carry out additional authorization checks, or store the generated PDF document in a document management system, for example.
To do so, go to the Implementation Guide (IMG) and choose .
