Initial Datafeed for Master Equipment

Purpose

An initial datafeed involves the initial transfer of the master data for master equipment from a non-SAP system to an SAP system.

The system does not create a purchase requisition in this process as it does when technical objects are relocated .

This enables you, for example, to transfer an aircraft from a location without an SAP system to a location managed using SAP without having to adjust much data.

Prerequisites

The technical object was created in the non-SAP system. The material master record for the technical object already exists in the SAP system.

Process Flow

  1. You post a goods receipt and include the technical object in the stock.

  2. You create the technical object as master equipment.

  3. The master equipment must be assigned to a force element. You call report /ISDFPS/820_REL_CREATE. The report uses the specified combination of plant/storage location to determine the force element and links it to the master equipment with an 820 relationship.

Result

The new master equipment with an active 820 relationship is available in the SAP system and can be processed further.
