Processing of Maintenance Orders

Use

When processing or forwarding maintenance orders, it may be necessary to adjust much of the data contained in the order, for example, the assignment of the individual operations to executing work centers.

This may be the case, if a large number of operations were generated when including general maintenance task lists in an order. For order processing, the transferred executing work centers must be adjusted for each operation.

Another case could be if the executing work centers need to be replaced for one or for all operations when forwarding a planned order to a different maintenance facility.

Two new functions are available for this purpose:

You can use the function for making mass changes to executing work centers in maintenance orders to simultaneously change the executing work center for all selected operations.

You can use the function for converting executing work centers according to MEBOR in maintenance orders to simultaneously replace a work center according to a predefined rule for all operations. You can specify this rule in the Work Center Conversion transaction (transaction code MEBOR).

Prerequisites

The function for converting executing work centers using the Work Center Conversion transaction (transaction code MEBOR) is only available if you implement the industry solution SAP for Discrete Industries and Mill Products (ECC-DIMP) .

Note that both of these functions are only possible for operations that are neither partially nor completely confirmed.

Features

You make mass changes to or convert executing work centers when processing a maintenance order (transaction code IW32) on the Operations tab page.

Mass Change to Executing Work Centers in Maintenance Orders

You use the Mass Change of Performing Work Centers pushbutton to call the Mass Change to Operation Work Centers dialog box. Enter the work center that is to be reassigned and the related plant. Select the required or all operations and choose Continue . The system changes the executing work center for the selected operations and then reports the number of changed work centers.

Conversion of Executing Work Centers in Maintenance Orders According to MEBOR

You can use the Convert Work Centers Based on MEBOR pushbutton to directly replace the executing work centers according to the conversion rules of the Work Center Conversion (MEBOR) transaction for all of the order’s operations. The system reports the number of replaced work centers after executing the function.
