To get started quickly on an initial implementation, you can get your strategic objectives in place first, and then figure out how to measure the objectives at a later time. Once you have defined your objectives, you can then set up your goal diagram. Users with the ability to create initiatives can also start creating initiatives in the strategy management application. The steps in this section do not require you to have a dimensional model built yet.

Prerequisites

There are different types of administrative permissions for each topic. If one user is performing all steps, that user should be the strategy management administrator to have access to all features. If various users are carrying out the steps, they should have the exact permissions set in the individual Prerequisites sections of the related topics.

System users and groups are populated in the strategy management system. For information, see the Server Configuration Guide for SAP BusinessObjects Strategy Management.

For information, see the Server Configuration Guide for SAP BusinessObjects Strategy Management located on SAP Service Marketplace.

  2. Start the Administrator.

  3. Create application groups and assign reporting permissions, assign administrative permissions, and assign the tabs available to the groups. For information, see Application Group Development.
