Status Change Using Organizational Measures You can use organizational measures to group data changes that are made in the
Structures Workbench
separately by business area (on two levels, in measure subareas and measure areas) and to perform a
joint status change
for these data changes.
With organizational measures, you can change the status of force elements, reference force elements, positions, and jobs (that is, their properties and assignments to these objects including assignments to material objects): You cannot change the status of material objects using an organizational measure.
If you decide to use organizational measures, the options that exist in the
Structures
Workbench
for directly changing the status of objects and assignments do not apply. The organizational measure becomes responsible for activating structures and the associated assignments, infotypes, and so on.
As an alternative to organizational measures, you can also execute individual measures or direct changes .
You have activated the functions for organizational measures in the Implementation Guide (IMG) under .
You have learned about the
Case Management
component, in particular how to customize and configure the application, as well as about how to define process routes.
Note
The functions from the
Case Management
application (transaction SCASE) are only outlined below. For more information about this application, see the
Case Management
documentation in SAP Library under
.
You have also learned how to manage the workflow inbox.
You have to carry out the following preparatory steps :
You define measure types that you use to control which data can be edited within the scope of an organizational measure of a particular type.
You define measure areas that are appropriate from a business perspective in order to specify which object types, properties, and assignments are to be edited together and undergo a joint status change within the scope of the organizational measure.
You create an organizational measure, assign it a measure type, and specify which measure areas this organizational measure includes, as well as who edits and approves these measure areas, and in which sequence.
For more information, see Defining Organizational Measures .
You now execute the organizational measure as follows:
The processors responsible receive notification about their assignment to an organizational measure by workflow. They
change data
in the
Structures Workbench
and automatically assign these changes to the organizational measure.
The status of the measure area is
In Process
and the status of the data changes is
Planned
.
Once all processors have completed their tasks in the measure area in question, the user responsible
changes the status of the measure area
. The status of all the data changes contained in this area is changed together with the status of the measure area from
Requested
to
Approved
to
Active
.
The system automatically
changes the status of the organizational measure
from
Partially Active
(the status of at least one measure area is
Active
) to
Active
.
For more information, see Executing Organizational Measures .
Note
Which users are allowed to edit organizational measures and measure areas, and to change their statuses depends on the authorizations they are assigned.
You can use
Case Management
to define complex
process routes
, that is, you can specify which processors receive workflow work items at the same time and, accordingly, need to perform their tasks. You can also specify which processors have display authorization only and which user has approve authorization.
The standard workflow WS78900007 is used for the process route within the scope of an organizational measure.
