Use

This function enables existing accounts to be changed.

You can change the individual fields of an account contract in a limited way. The permitted changes can be divided into the following types:

...

       1.      Certain basic attributes such as the product category cannot be changed.

       2.      Certain attributes can only be changed by orders, such as account closure and account product change.

       3.      Other attributes can be changed directly on the SAP Graphical User Interface (SAP GUI) using a Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI) or Direct Input.

Attributes that can be changed directly or by orders might require release, depending on the Customizing settings.

Integration

While changes made to the account are being processed, the related release object and different authorization objects control the program flow.

You can find the system settings and other information in the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Account Management (FS-AM) under:

·        Release: Contract Management ® General Settings  ® Release

·        Authorization: Basic Settings ® Authorizations

Note

The system generates a work item for the release process if the relevant Customizing settings have been made. For more information, see the Structure linkFramework for the Principle of Dual Control (CA-GTF-TS-PDC) and Structure linkSAP Business Workplace sections.

The processing steps that run when changes are made are not dependent on the channel if the Business Data Toolset (BDT) is used.

The following channels are generally available for changing accounts. However, their availability is restricted in the case of order-related changes:

·         SAP Graphical User Interface (SAP GUI)

·         Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI)

·         Direct Input (DI)

Activities
