Editing Direct Debit Orders
On the Direct Debit Order tab page you can create, change or delete direct debit orders..
...
...
...
· The direct debit order has been activated as a feature in the underlying product. You have entered the relevant settings in the Customizing for Account Management (FS-AM) under Product Management ® Product Definition ® Account Products ® Create Account Product or Change Account Product.
· You have neither deactivated nor locked the Direct Debit Order feature in the account contract. If there is a lock or this indicator has been deactivated, you need to change this under Create/Change Account on the Features tab page. For more information, see the SAP Library, under Editing Features.
You can create as many direct debit orders as required for each account.
...
...
1. Choose Create.
The system automatically assigns the number for the direct debit order, and its currency.

If the account currency is valid only for a certain period, for example, for a future currency conversion, you must create a new direct debit order in the new account currency after the currency change has taken place. You need to change the account currency accordingly first.
2. Enter the full name of the payment recipient.

If you choose the Detail View, you can use the alias function to provide additional aliases for the payment recipient.
When a debit memo is presented, the system uses the alias check to check whether the payment recipient name given on this debit memo matches the payment recipient and aliases entered on the direct debit order. The names to be checked go through a concordance check, which is not case sensitive, and which automatically converts umlauts (relevant for German names, for example).
i. To do this, choose Create and enter the alias you want to use, and the name of the payment recipient entered for the direct debit order.
ii. Save your entries and exit the Detail View.
You need to enter the following settings in the Customizing for Account Management before the concordance check can be run:
· Choose Item Management ® Basic Functions ® Transaction Types and Transaction Type Groups ® Maintain Transaction Types for Payment Items, and select one of the following checks from the detail view in the Checks group box for the check object Account-Name Check:
o Account holder name
o Direct debit order
o All
· You must have set up an error tolerance limit by choosing Item Management ® Basic Settings - Postings ®Set +/- Sign for Postings and Name Check.
· If the respective payment item reaches Account Management via a BAPI, the Account Name check object with the Account Name – Account Holder and Account Name – Direct Debit Order checks must not be deactivated.

To define a maximum amount for the direct debit order, enter the required amount in the amount field provided. The system checks before posting whether the amount of a presented debit memo is below the maximum amount. If this is the case, the debit memo is posted. If the amount to be posted exceeds the maximum amount, the system responds in different ways according to the Customizing settings:
· The debit memo is processed in accordance with the settings for the amount-dependent posting lock. For more information about posting locks, see the SAP Library, under Editing Posting Locks.
· The debit memo is processed according to the settings in the posting control rules.
If you do not specify a maximum amount, the system does not check the amount.
3. Save your entries.

If you wish levy a charge as part of a standard or individual condition, and have made the appropriate settings, the system posts the charge automatically at this point.
For more
information about conditions, see
Financial
Conditions in the SAP Library.
