Use

On the Bank Statement tab page, you specify when, to whom, how often, how, and which way bank statements are to be dispatched. These details are used as control parameters for the generation of the bank statement. For more information on displaying and editing individual generation dates for bank statements, see: Displaying and Editing Generation Dates in the SAP Library.

Prerequisites

...

...

...

·        The bank statement has been activated as a feature in the relevant product. You have entered the relevant settings in the Customizing for Account Management (FS-AM) under Product Management ® Product Definition ® Account Products ® Create Account Product or Change Account Product. You have set the product up so that the contract can be saved without any additional settings. It contains a minimum of the following data:

¡        An active, binding bank statement agreement, where the field for the recipient group is blank for this agreement.

¡        The calculation details defined in the product for the calculation of the key run dates, if the Periodic indicator is set for the product.

·        You have neither deactivated nor locked the Bank Statement feature in the account contract. If there is a lock, or this indicator has been deactivated, you need to change this under Create/Change Account on the Features tab page. For more information about features, see the SAP Library under Editing Features.

·        You have entered the Customizing settings for the bank statement under Item Management ® Basic Functions ® Bank Statement ® Enter General Settings.

·        You have activated the correspondence recipient managementfeature for the contract or its product, and have entered at least one original or general alternative correspondence recipient. You have created the relevant recipient groups in the Customizing settings for Correspondence Recipient Management, under Tools ® Correspondence Recipient Management ® Create and Assign Recipient Groups.

Procedure

Editing General Data for Bank Statements

...

...

...

       1.      You can enter the following settings in the General Data group box:

¡        Maximum number of payment items that can be output on a bank statement that was called up at the bank statement printer.

¡        Number of days after a turnover when the system can generate a bank statement for the binding agreement

¡        Creation type for payment forms such as checks (PF).

You need to enter the selection help values provided by the system in the Customizing settings for the bank statement under Item Management ® Bank Statement ® Define Creation Types for Payment Forms.

       2.      In the Bank Statement Agreement area you can create, change, delete, or deactivate new bank statement agreements in addition to the binding bank statement agreement.

Note

The Binding Bank Statement Agreement on the Bank Statement tab page has the Binding indicator set. You can neither delete nor deactivate this agreement.

       3.      Choose Save.

Creating/Changing Bank Statement Agreements

...

...

...

       1.      Choose Create in the Bank Statement Agreement group box. The system creates a new bank statement agreement with the following characteristics:

¡        Status: Active

¡        (Sequential Number of) Agreement: 1

¡        Binding Agreement: Activated

       2.      Set the following indicators if required:

¡        Periodic, if the system is to automatically calculate the key date for the next bank statement to be created in a mass run. The system displays the Bank Statement Time Periods area in which you need to enter the data required for calculating the key date automatically. You can find more information on the data you have to enter here in the Bank Statement Time Periods section of the bank statement document listed below. Changes to this field are only possible on the day.

¡        Bank Statement Printer, to enable the output of bank statements on bank statement printers for the account. Changes to this field are only possible on the day.

Note

You can only set this indicator for an agreement:

¡        Without Turnovers, to create a bank statement without existing turnovers.

¡        Item Information, if the system is to include information, which you have set up in the Customizing for Account Management (FS-AM), under Tools ® Print Workbench, or in your Output Management System.

¡        Recipient Group (correspondence recipient group). The following applies:

§         For binding agreements, this field is normally blank and not ready for input.  This is because the standard recipient group is the correspondence recipient group that all other correspondence usually accesses, without you having to create a correspondence recipient group in the Customizing settings. To use the standard recipient group, leave this field blank.

§         To specify in more detail about to whom, how, and in what form a bank statement is to be sent, enter the relevant recipient group here. You need to create correspondence recipient groups first in the Customizing for Correspondence Recipient Management under Tools ® Correspondence Recipient Management ® Create and Assign Correspondence Recipient Groups. For more information, see the SAP Library, under Correspondence Recipient Management.

       3.      Choose Save.

Note

You can change a bank statement agreement for any time in the present, future and past. Earlier and later changes to the Periodic and On Request indicators are, however, not possible.

Which fields are ready for input depends on the point in time. If the Periodic indicator is set for the agreement, details of the time period of the bank statement agreement are displayed in a separate screen for this agreement.

Deleting / Deactivating a Bank Statement Agreement

You can delete a bank statement agreement as long as you have not saved it. If you have already saved the bank statement agreement, you can now only deactivate it. The symbol in the Active column changes from Active (light is on) to Inactive (light is off). No more bank statements can be created for this agreement,

Note

A binding bank statement agreement cannot be deleted or deactivated.

...

...

...

       1.      Select the required line and choose Delete / Deactivate.

       2.      Choose Save.

Result

The system saves the bank statement data according to your entries. If your entries are subject to release, another user with release authorization may need to release them before they can take effect. For more information, see: Release Object CN (Contract) in the SAP Library.
