Procedure documentation Synchronizing Data Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Prerequisites

·        The system administrator has configured the site in the CRM server by using Administration Console. For more information, see ConnTrans and refer to the Integration section.

·        The system administrator has assigned the site to the mobile client by using Client Console. For more information, see Assigning and Reassigning a Site ID to the Mobile Client.

·        If the site is configured to use the Default Connection Group, the system administrator must have defined a dial-up connection in the mobile client. For more information, see Creating a Dial-Up Connection.

Procedure

...

       1.      Invoke ConnTrans.exe.

The ConnTrans screen appears.

       2.      Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

The Transfer Services and Advanced Settings tabs appear. The Transfer Services tab displays the transfer services that are configured on the mobile client.

       3.      In the Transfer Services tab, select the required transfer service and the corresponding operation (Send or Receive) you want to perform.

       4.      In the Advanced Settings tab, under Connection Options, select the required connection type.

       5.      Choose Synchronize.

ConnTrans starts synchronizing data for the transfer service(s) you select.

       6.      In case of a dial-up connection, if the network connection fails during data synchronization, windows redials to establish the network connection. After windows establishes the network connection, to resume data synchronization, select Auto-Synchronize. For more information, see Automatic Redial, The ConnTrans Startup File, and Behavior of ConnTrans.

Note

By default, Auto-Synchronize is enabled.

       7.      To automatically close ConnTrans after the data synchronization is complete, select Close on finish.

Note

·         ConnTrans closes automatically only if the data synchronization is successful. However, if an error occurs during the data synchronization process, the color of the status bar changes to red and ConnTrans does not close automatically. For more information, see Colors of the Status Bar.

·         If you are executing ConnTrans in the minimized mode, the tool tip that appears over the ConnTrans icon in the system tray indicates the status of the data synchronization process. For more information, see ConnTrans Icon States.

Result

The data synchronization process sends data from the outbound queue and receives data into the inbound queue of the mobile client. Subsequently, the import process processes the data persisted in the inbound queue and accordingly updates the application tables in the user database. In addition, the ConnTrans_Log.xml file is generated that contains runtime information associated with the execution of ConnTrans. For more information, see The ConnTrans Log File.
