Function documentationSet Procedure Lock

If the central lock management Posting Lock Management (PLM) isn ot active, you can use this function to set procedure locks for existing cards. You need to specify the lock reason. You can lock a card, for example, if it has been lost or stolen.

Integration

When the system processes changes to the card, the related release object and different authorization objects control the program flow. For more information, see Customizing for Account Management (FS-AM) under:

  • Release: Account Management (FS-AM) -> Contract Management -> General Settings -> Release in the Contract

  • Authorizations: Account Management (FS-AM) -> Basic Settings -> Authorizations

The processing steps for card changes are independent of the channel because of the Business Data Toolset (BDT). The channels below are generally available for changes to cards. However, their availability is restricted for order-related changes:

    • SAP Graphical User Interface (SAP GUI)

    • Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI)

    • Direct Input (DI)

Prerequisites

The following are the prerequisites for locking a card:

  • The copy status of the card is not initial.

Note Note

You can change cards whose copy status is initial and that are to be renewed or reproduced providing these cards have not expired.

  • The card has not expired.

  • The card has not been destroyed.

  • You have not terminated the card order.

  • You have specified that the Set Procedure Lock feature is allowed for the card product upon which the card is based, and this feature is not locked.

  • Posting Lock Management (PLM) is not active.

  • If there are already master data changes or changes to a procedure lock for the card, and these are still in release, you can only set the procedure lock if this action is not subject to release. If this action is subject to release, the other changes must be released first.

  • There must be no changes in release for the feature or posting lock of the account. If there are, the system hides the corresponding entry fields for the procedure lock.

End of the note.

Activities

  1. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Account Management –> Card –> Card Master Data –> Set Procedure Lock.

  2. Choose the card type from the list.

  3. Enter the card number. If you do not know the card number, you can use the dropdown list.

    Caution Caution

Note that you must enter the 10-digit account number in the input help.

    End of the caution.

    Example Example

Your business partner has account number 772033, so in the input help you enter account number 0000772033.

    End of the example.

    Note Note

If you double-click the Show Valid-On button, the system displays the field on the initial screen. If this field is displayed, you must enter the date there as of which the are changes to apply. All values from the contract start date onwards are allowed. If the field is hidden, the system automatically enters the system date.

    End of the note.
  4. The system automatically transfers the data of the selected card to all the other fields on the initial screen. The system automactically enters the current date in the Card Valid-On field as the default value. However, you can overwrite this.

  5. Choose Continue.

The system displays the next screen with the different tab pages that are available. These tab pages contain business-related groupings of individual fields. Depending on the card product of the card you have chosen, the system displays all or just some of the tab pages listed below.

Choose Change Documents for the Current Cursor Field/Card Change Documents to display all changes previously made to the card. For more information about change documents, see Change Document.

  6. To set the procedure lock, choose the Features tab page.

  7. You can choose Check Card to check whether your changes are correct before you save.

  8. Choose Card -> Switch Card to go back to the initial screen and select a different card.

  9. Once you have entered all changes, choose Save.
