Function documentationSet Feature Lock

If the central lock management Posting Lock Management (PLM) is not active, you can use this function to set feature locks for existing cards. You need to specify the lock reason. You can lock a card, for example, if it has been lost or stolen.

Integration

When the system processes master data changes to the card, the related release object and different authorization objects control the program flow. For more information, see Authorization Administration in Account Management. For the system settings and other information, see Customizing for Account Management (FS-AM) under:

  • Start of the navigation path Contract Management Next navigation step General Settings Next navigation step Release in the Contract End of the navigation path

  • Start of the navigation path Basic Settings Next navigation step Authorizations End of the navigation path

The processing steps for card changes are independent of the channel because of the Business Data Toolset (BDT). The channels below are generally available for changes to cards. However, their availability is restricted for order-related changes:

    • SAP Graphical User Interface (SAP GUI)

    • Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI)

    • Direct Input (DI)

Prerequisites

The following are the prerequisites for locking a card:

  • The copy status of the card is not initial.

Note Note

You can change cards whose copy status is initial and that are to be renewed or reproduced providing these cards have not expired.

End of the note.
  • The card has not expired.

  • The card has not been destroyed.

  • You have not terminated the card order.

  • You have specified that the Set Feature Lock feature is allowed for the card product upon which the card is based, and this feature is not locked.

  • Posting Lock Management (PLM) is not active.

  • If there are already master data changes for the card, and these are still in release, you can only set the feature lock if this action is not subject to release. If this action is subject to release, the other master data changes must be released first.

  • Changes to the feature lock are not allowed to be in release, otherwise you cannot set an additional feature lock for the card.

Activities

  1. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Start of the navigation path Financial Services Next navigation step Account Management Next navigation step Card Next navigation step Master Data of Card Next navigation step Set Feature Lock End of the navigation path.

  2. Select the card type.

  3. Enter the card number. If you do not know the card number, you can use the dropdown list.

    Caution Caution

Note that you must enter the 10-digit account number from the input help.

    End of the caution.

    Example Example

Your business partner has account number 772033, so in the input help you enter account number 0000772033.

    End of the example.

    Note Note

If you double-click the Show Valid-On button, the system displays the field on the initial screen. If you have displayed this field, you must enter a date in it manually. Changes apply from the date entered here. All values from the contract start date onwards are permitted. If the field is hidden, the system automatically enters the current system date.

    End of the note.
  4. The system automatically transfers the data of the selected card to all the other fields on the initial screen. The system automactically enters the current date in the Card Valid-On field as the default value. However, you can overwrite this.

  5. Choose Continue.

The system displays the next screen with the different tab pages that are available. These tab pages contain business-related groupings of individual fields. Depending on the card product of the card you have chosen, the system displays all or just some of the tab pages listed below.

    Note Note

Choose Change Documents for the Current Cursor Field/Card Change Documents to display all changes previously made to the card. For more information about change documents, see Change Document.

You can choose Check Card to check whether your changes are correct before you save.

Choose Start of the navigation path Card -> Switch Card End of the navigation path to go directly back to the initial screen and select a different card.

    End of the note.

Once you have entered all changes, choose Save.
