Designing a Query 

Purpose

The Designing a Query IT process allows business experts to create, change and execute queries. In the Business Explorer (BEx) the BEx Query Designer, a .NET-based, user-friendly and intuitive tool, is available for this purpose.

Prerequisites

In order to run this process, you need to determine an InfoProvider as the data provider. You have defined this in the IT process Data Modeling.

Process Flow

The following process runs primarily in the BI Java usage type:

       1.      You select the appropriate InfoProvider.

       2.      You define the query.

       3.      You save the query.

Result

You have defined queries for a particular InfoProvider.
