Data Modeling 

Purpose

The Data Modeling IT process allows you to model various InfoProviders. These InfoProviders include InfoObjects, DataStore objects, InfoCubes, VirtualProviders, InfoSets and MultiProviders.

If you have modified the structures in an operational system, you can use remodeling to adapt these data models to the changes.

Process Flow

The following process runs in the BI usage type:

Choose Save.

       1.      You define DataStore objects (data warehouse layer).

       2.      You define InfoCubes (architected data marts).

       3.      You define additional InfoProviders (InfoObjects, VirtualProviders, InfoSets, MultiProviders).

       4.      You remodel your objects after you have loaded data.

Result

You have modeled or remodeled InfoProviders.
