Query, Reporting and Analysis
With this variant, business experts can use BEx Query Designer to define queries allowing BI data to be analyzed flexibly and according to specific user requirements.
This variant shows how queries can be made available using Web applications created with BEx Web Application Designer. BEx Web applications can be modified to meet the requirements of different user categories. For example, BI data can be presented in a concise form for quick information purposes, or in complex and interactive applications for business analysts.
Business can experts use BEx Report Designer to create formatted reports. This tool provides various functions, for example, to select formats, fonts and data layouts to add header and footer rows to reports. These reports are optimized for displaying and printing.
BEx Report Designer is integrated into BEx Web Application Designer. This means that reports can be integrated into BEx Web applications using the Report Web item.
BEx Web applications and reports are accessed in the portal. They can then be converted into PDF files and printed.
The graphic below provides an overview of the architecture:

You define queries in BEx Query Designer. You can then use these as data providers in BEx Report Designer to create reports and in BEx Web Application Designer to create Web applications. You publish the Web applications from the Web Application Designer to the portal. Users can access the BI applications here and analyze the data, or use a variety of Knowledge Management services.

In this process, you create formatted reports. Using the Report Web item, you can insert the formatted reports into Web applications. |
|
In this process, you create the Web applications and publish them to the portal. You can make Web applications available with comprehensive analytical options or simply provide information consumers with the information they require at a glance. |
|
In this process, users call and process Web applications in the portal. For example, they analyze the BI data and navigate in the Web application and print the Web application or distribute them to other recipients. |
