Designing a Web Application 

Purpose

The Designing a Web Application IT process allows business experts to define individual Web applications using the BEx Web Application Designer and publish them to the portal.

Use of the Process

This IT process is part of the following IT scenarios:

Prerequisites

In order to run this process you need a query, query view or filter as the data provider. You have created these in the Designing a Query IT process.

Process Flow

The following process runs primarily in the BI Java usage type:

       1.      You create a new Web template.

       2.      You insert the Web item you want.

       3.      You assign the data provider that you want to use to the Web item.

       4.      You configure how these are to interact.

       5.      You save the Web application.

       6.      You publish the Web application to the portal.

Result

You have created a Web application that contains BI-specific content such as different tables, graphics, maps or a report. You have published this Web application to the portal.
