Purpose

In this process, you group phrases from the active phrase library that are to be used as value assignments for characteristics and fields in the SAP EH&S components (such as Dangerous Goods Management and Waste Management).

After a phrase set has been assigned to a characteristic or a field, you can use the phrases in this phrase set as possible entries for value assignment of the characteristic or field (see Phrase Set-Attribute Assignment).

In the active phrase library, you can import assignments between phrases and phrase sets into the SAP System additively, or export them to the transfer file.

Prerequisites

You have created the phrases in the active phrase library in phrase management.

Process Flow

  1. You can carry out the following activities in the initial phrase management screens:
  1. Search results are displayed in a hit list.

From the hit list you can call all other functions in phrase set management. For example, you can edit phrase sets. It is also possible to create a phrase set from the hit list.
  1. Whether you create a phrase set on the initial screen or from the hit list, you first enter the data for the phrase set header (see Editing the Phrase Set Header).

You can copy an existing phrase set as a template.
  1. From the phrase set header and the hit list, you can edit the descriptions and phrase assignments of a phrase set (see Entering Phrase Set Names and Assigning Phrases to a Phrase Set).

In the description, you can translate a short description of the phrase set into the languages you have defined in Customizing for Product Safety. In the phrase assignment, you assign the phrases to the phrase set.
  1. In the phrase set-attribute assignment, you assign your phrase set to suitable characteristics or fields (see Assigning Phrase Sets to Attributes).
