Configuration/Selfmonitoring of the Global Workload Monitor
Use
You can use the global workload monitor to analyze the workload of non-SAP R/3 components that write Distributed Statistics Records (DSR). You can influence the type and scope of the data entry and the data storage in a number of ways.
As with every tool for monitoring a system, you must find an appropriate compromise with the global workload monitor between the need for system monitoring that is as exact as possible on one hand, and the need not to damage system performance by monitoring on the other.

This section contains functions for database and parameter maintenance for the DSR collector and the DSR performance database.
Statistical data for non-SAP R/3 Systems is, like SAP R/3 statistical records, stored and aggregated in a performance database. You can display locally available data records of this DSR database in a table.
You can use this procedure to specify how long the daily, weekly, and monthly statistics for the individual aggregates in the performance database are to be retained. These parameters apply to all components and component types.
You can check the messages of the collector for non-SAP R/3 statistics and of the various component collectors, and filter it by the various types (Information, Warning, Error, or Termination).
Here, you can define general parameters to control the collector depending on the component type or agent.
You can use this function to activate or deactivate different statistics for each component type, or to set parameters that affect the formatting of the statistics for
response time distribution and availability.![]()
The application log contains error messages for the global workload monitor itself. Among other things, RFC errors to other systems are logged here. The structure of the page is identical to that of the Messages of the Collectors.
Use this function to define which components are to be monitored using the global workload monitor.
