Use

Statistical data for non-SAP R/3 Systems (Distributed Statistics Records, DSR) is, like SAP R/3 statistical records, stored in a performance database. As new performance data must constantly be stored, the table must be regularly reorganized. The data is retained for a specific period of time and then deleted. By default, the reorganization is performed by the SAP_REORG_NONE_R3_STAT_DB job once a day.

Background documentation

The reorganization job is started by the SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_NONE_R3_STAT job. By default, this job runs once an hour, and belongs to the SAP standard jobs; you can schedule it using transaction SM36 (Define job) by choosing the Standard Jobs pushbutton.

You can specify how long the daily, weekly, and monthly statistics for the individual aggregates in the performance database are to be retained. These parameters apply to all components and component types.

Note

The DSR database is specially encoded and cannot be accessed using conventional methods.

Procedure

  1. Start the global workload monitor by calling transaction ST03G.
  2. Expand the subtree Distributed Statistics Records in the Control tree.
  3. Choose Contents of the Reorganization of the Performance Database by double clicking the entry.
  4. The system displays the Parameters for the Reorganization of the DSR Performance DB screen. You can define the retention periods for the daily, weekly, and monthly aggregations separately for the different analyses.

Note

We recommend that you use the following retention times:

  1. Save your entries.
