Use

Statistical data for non-SAP R/3 systems (Distributed Statistics Records, DSR) are first collected in the component itself and are transferred by a Structure linkCCMS agent to the monitoring system with which the agent is registered. There, the data is processed, aggregated, and stored in a performance database. This is done by the workload collector, that runs once an hour by default. To do this, this Collector for non-SAP R/3 Statistics starts the various component collectors, which each process the statistical data for one component.

Background documentation

The collector is started by the SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_NONE_R3_STAT job. By default, this job runs once an hour, and belongs to the SAP standard jobs; you can schedule it using transaction SM36 (Define job) by choosing the Standard Jobs pushbutton.

You can display the logs of the collector runs. In this way, you can check the messages of the collector for non-SAP R/3 statistics and of the various component collectors, and filter it by the various types (Information, Warning, Error, or Termination). You can also display the detailed description or the technical information for every message of a collector.

Procedure

  1. Start the global workload monitor by calling transaction ST03G.
  2. In the Control tree, expand the subtree Distributed Statistics Records, and expand the Collector Log subtree there.
  3. Depending on the time period for which you want to view the collector logs, choose one of the options: Today, This Week, or All, by double clicking it.
  4. Note

By default, collector logs are retained for 14 days. You can change this retention period by Setting the Parameters to Control the DSR Collector.

  5. The system displays the Display Logs screen. In the upper half of the screen, the system displays an Structure linkALV Grid Control with a line for each run of a collector. To display all messages during a collector run, choose the corresponding line by double clicking it.
  6. In the lower half of the screen, the system displays another ALV Grid Control with the messages for the selected collector run. The following message types exist:
