Set Parameters for Statistics Generation

Use

You can determine which statistics are to be generated in the monitoring system in the context of the aggregation of the non-SAP R/3 statistical data (Distributed Statistics Records, DSR). There are also various parameters that directly influence the display of individual aggregations. You can deactivate individual aggregates individually, which reduces the runtime of the collector and the memory requirement of the performance database.

Creating Individual Aggregations:

For the following analyses of the non-SAP R/3 statistical data, you can decide for individual component types whether or not an aggregation should be performed:

Response Time Distribution

Call Statistics

Hitlists (separate for response time and call time)

Load from External Systems

Availability

You can decide whether the weekly and monthly statistics should be created for individual component types.

You can decide for individual component types whether a TOTAL aggregation of all components with the same assigned SAP R/3 System is to be created.

Influencing Individual Aggregations:

You can define the interval boundaries that divide the response times into ten intervals for the individual component types. The interval boundaries are used in the response time distribution analysis.

You can define the length of the interval for the measurement of availability (check interval) for the individual component types. The default length is 15 minutes.

You can define the time zone for the aggregations (aggregate time zone). Statistical data can be displayed in any time zone. However, as the statistical data is aggregated to daily data, it is necessary to define the start and end of a day in a particular time zone. This is the aggregate time zone.

Procedure

Start the Global Workload Monitor by calling transaction ST03G.

Expand the Distributed Statistics Records subtree in the Control Data tree.

Choose the Statistics to Be Created entry by double clicking it.

The system displays the Parameters for Statistics Creation screen. In an ALV Grid Control, the system displays at least one line for each possible parameter with a description of the parameter in the column Comment for a DSR Parameter. Use the other columns to make your changes:

To assign another value to a parameter for a different Consumer, choose Duplicate Row (

) and make the desired changes there.

To delete a line, choose Delete (

)

Save your entries.
