Use

You can analyze the workload of SAP R/3 Systems and non-SAP R/3 systems in the global workload monitor. You can use various analysis views for SAP R/3 Systems, and various analyses for non-SAP R/3 systems.

An analysis always displays an aspect of the system load. One of these aspects is the question of which transaction steps have the longest response and call times. These steps are listed in two hitlists.

Prerequisites

The Internet Transaction Server is currently the only non-SAP R/3 component type for which statistics records are written that can be analyzed in the global workload monitor. We plan to include other component types in the future.

Procedure

  1. Start the global workload monitor by calling transaction ST03G.
  2. In the Workload tree in the upper left subscreen, choose the component type and the components that you want to analyze. For more information about the structure of the workload tree, see Structure of the Workload Tree of the Global Workload Monitor.
  3. In the Analyses tree in the lower left subscreen, choose the Hitlists option.
  4. Choose one of the options Top Response Time or Top Call Time.
  5. The system displays an output area, in which the requested list is displayed in an Structure linkALV Grid Control.

Result

The output area displays the workload of the 40 steps with the longest response or call times. To obtain a description of a column, select the corresponding column and use the F1 help. With the Service dropdown menu, you can restrict the display to a particular service type (for more information about service types, see Display Workload Overviewn).
