In your SAP system landscape, this indicator informs about the installation directory of an instance in a deployed SAP CC Core Server system. It depends on the operating system and file system.
The SAP CC system is a multihost SAP system with distributed instances. Several instances are installed in a host.
Important Note
There is a naming convention that you must be aware.
The values and format depend on:
In the Microsoft Windows operating system:
<DRIVE>:\usr\sap\<SID>\<SAP_INST_NAME>\
In the UNIX and Linux operating systems: /usr/sap/<SID>/<SAP_INST_NAME>/
Where:
<DRIVE> is the drive letter of the hard disk used as storage medium (in a MS Windows environment)
<SID> is the SAP System Identifier (SID), the unique identifier of
the SAP CC system in the SAP system landscape. See also
the SYSTEM_ID system parameter.
<SAP_INST_NAME> is the SAP Instance Name, the unique identifier of
the SAP CC system in the SAP system landscape. See also
the SAP_INSTANCE_NAME indicator.
Example
A dispatcher instance is deployed on a host in the following directory:
HOSTNAME - The name of the machine hosting the instance of the SAP CC system
INSTANCE_ID - The unique ID of the corresponding instance in its SAP CC system. This ID includes the type of the instance and a digit number.
