ResourceA resource is an entity in the warehouse that is capable of receiving and executing tasks.
You can become a resource by logging on to the system with or without a device. Once you are a resource, you can perform tasks and your actions and statuses are tracked and displayed in the TRM Monitor.
Resources comprise of resource elements, each with their own resource element type. The resource type of any given resource determines which resource element types are required to construct that resource.
After resource elements of the required types log on to the system, a resource is constructed and assigned a unique identification number. The active resource inherits attributes, qualifications and preferences/qualification priorities from its resource elements and resource type. For more information, see Example: Determination of Resource Qualifications.

David Grecco is a worker resource element in the warehouse. He can work as a forklift operator or as a palletjack operator. These are his allowed roles or resource element types since they define the role that he plays in the system.
Forklift 007 is a device resource element in the warehouse. It only has one allowed role or resource element type, which is a forklift.
If David logs on as a forklift operator with forklift_007
, resource 1852 is constructed in the system and can now receive and execute tasks. Resource 1852 is of resource type simple forklift, formed from the resource element types forklift operator and forklift.
