Resource Element TypeThe resource element type defines the role a resource element plays in the system, determining which resource elements can form a resource of a particular resource type .
A worker resource element can have more than one allowed resource element type, one of which can be defined as the default type which appears when it logs on. The worker can log on as the default type, or choose another allowed type. If you utilize the role check mechanism, the system checks the chosen resource element type against a list of the worker’s allowed roles, ensuring that the worker can log on only with an allowed resource element type. For example, someone without a driver’s license for a forklift cannot play the role of forklift driver.
A device resource element has a fixed resource element type.
Note
You can activate the role check mechanism for a particular resource element. For more information, see Modifying and Deleting Resource Elements .
Resource element types are the components of a resource type. A resource can only be activated when resource elements of the required resource element types log on to the system. Once the resource logs off, these resource elements are released from the resource.
