Monitor Methods

Use

The TRM Monitor methods allow you to perform actions on a selected object or object class. Each method belongs to one of two groups:

Display methods

Display information for the selected object

Maintenance methods

Enable you to perform actions that influence object field values

Prerequisites

You have defined methods and object classes in Customizing for Start of the navigation path Logistics Execution Next navigation step Task & Resource Management Monitoring Define Object Class Methods. End of the navigation path

Features

You can invoke the methods either via the Monitor hierarchy tree or the ALV tool bar.

Invoking Methods Via the Hierarchy Tree

Display the relevant objects. For information on how this is done, see Using Basic Monitor Functions .
From the hierarchy tree, right-click one or more objects or an object class. A pop-up menu appears.
Choose an option from the pop-up menu.

Invoking Methods Via the ALV

Display the relevant objects.
From the ALV, select the row or rows corresponding to the objects on which you want to apply the method.
For some methods, you choose the relevant icon from the ALV tool bar.
For other methods, you choose from the ALV tool bar and then an option from the pop-up menu.

Hide selected objects		All except Site	Hides one or more selected objects in both the hierarchy tree and ALV
Hide unselected objects		All except Site	Hides one or more unselected objects in both the hierarchy tree and ALV
Refresh objects		All	Updates the display of selected objects
Send a message		Site Resource	Enables you to send a message to the presentation devices of one or more resources	Refer to Sending Messages to Resources .
Set as selection criteria		All except Site	Sets one or more object nodes as the selection criteria for expanding sub-object classes	This method can be used instead of Drag&Drop .
Clear selection criteria		All except Site	Discontinues the use of object nodes as selection criteria

Maintain Methods

Assign		Task	Enables you to manually assign a task to a selected resource	Refer to Manually Assigning Tasks to Resources .
Un-assign		Task	Enables you to un-assign a task from a selected resource	Refer to Manually Assigning Tasks to Resources .
Block		Resource Type Resource Element Node	Blocks an object so as to prevent its use
Un-block		Resource Type Resource Element Node	Un-blocks a previously blocked object
Change priority		Task	Enables you to increase or decrease the total priority of an available task by a selected value	For more information on priorities, see Priority Model .
Change qualification priority		Resource type	Enables you to assign or modify qualification priorities for the following entities: Resource type – working area Resource type – HU type Resource type – level
Change static activity priority		Site	Enables you to change the priorities of activities
Create/Create resource element		Resource element Site	Enable you to create a new resource element	Refer to Creating Resource Elements .
Copy		Resource element	Enables you to create a new resource element based on an existing one	Refer to Creating Resource Elements .
Delete			Enables you to delete a resource element	Refer to Modifying and Deleting Resource Elements .
Modify			Enables you to modify a resource element	Refer to Modifying and Deleting Resource Elements .
Create tasks		Site Transfer order	Creates tasks by dispatching one of the following: All dispatchable requests pertaining to a site A request relating to a particular transfer order	Refer to Scheduler .
Disable		ECO	Disables selected ECOs	For more information on ECOs, see Execution Control .
Enable		ECO	Enables selected ECOs	For more information on ECOs, see Execution Control .
Logoff		Resource	Logs off a resource	Refer to Logging a Resource off from the System .
Maintain mandatory routes		P&D zone	Enables you to disable or enable mandatory routes for a selected P&D zone	For more information on mandatory routes, see Routes .
Maintain mode		Site	Opens the Mode Maintenance tool	Refer to Mode Maintenance and Priority Explanation Tools .
Maintain monitor variants		Site	Enables you to create and display customized versions of the Monitor hierarchy tree	Refer to Maintaining Monitor Variants .
Maintain presentation devices		Site	Enables you to maintain presentation devices	Refer to Maintaining Presentation Devices .
Maintain site		Site	Enables you to do the following: Enable and disable the application log Set the degree of optimization for task selection, the degree to which TRM performs task-resource optimization at the expense of speed
