Creating Resource Elements

Use

Using the TRM monitor, you can create resource elements, either from the beginning or from an existing resource element template.

You can also create resource elements by choosing Start of the navigation path Logistics Next navigation step Logistics Execution Task & Resource Management Resource Element Maintenance Wizard End of the navigation path from the SAP Easy Access menu.

Procedure

The procedures for creating resource elements from the beginning and from templates vary, depending on whether you invoke the method from:

The ALV or hierarchy tree
The site object, resource element object or object class

Creating a New Resource Element from the Beginning

Object/Class	Procedure
Object/Class		ALV	Hierarchy Tree
Site		Display the site objects
		From the ALV, select the row corresponding to the site and choose Create resource element. The Resource Element Maintenance wizard appears.	From the hierarchy tree, right-click the icon to the left of the site object and choose Create resource element from the pop-up menu. The Resource Element Maintenance wizard appears.
	Follow the wizard’s instructions. The fields vary, depending on whether you are creating a worker or device. For a list of the fields and required information, see Resource Element Maintenance Wizard Fields.
Resource Element		Display the resource element objects. For more information on displaying objects, see Using Basic Monitor Functions
		From the ALV tool bar, choose Create. The Resource Element Maintenance wizard appears.	From the hierarchy tree, right-click the icon to the left of the resource element object class and choose Create from the pop-up menu. The Resource Element Maintenance wizard appears.

Creating a Resource Element from an Existing Template

Resource element		Display the resource element objects.
		From the ALV, select the row corresponding to a resource element and choose Copy. The Resource Element Maintenance wizard appears.	From the hierarchy tree, right-click the icon to the left of a resource element object and choose Copy from the pop-up menu. The Resource Element Maintenance wizard appears.

Result

A new resource element is created and appears in the monitor.
