Working with Special Object ListsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

There are two types of object list in transaction Translation Administration (LXE_MASTER):

  • Normal object lists

  • Special object lists

Normal object lists are created directly in the Object Lists dialog box, where they are flagged with the letter N. For more information on how to create normal object lists, see Creating Object Lists, Merging Object Lists, and Editing Object Lists.

Special object lists are created somewhere else in the translation environment. For example, if you select the Create DEMS Object List checkbox when creating top texts, the system generates a special object list. Special object lists are also displayed in the Object Lists dialog box, where they are flagged with the letter S.

If you call up the Special Object Lists dialog box, you can do the following:

  • Display all existing special object lists without the normal object lists

  • Create a special object list according to a worklist, according to the translation log, or by comparing the contents of two other object lists

Example

You could create a special object list that only contains objects:

  • In worklist 0001
  • For target language enUS
  • With translation status new
  • That have not been deleted since worklist 0001 for target language English was created
Alternatively, you could create a special object list for:
  • Translation area 999999
  • All object types
  • Language enUS
  • All users
  • Objects translated into enUS during the past two years

Alternatively, you could create a special object list that only contains objects common to two existing object lists.
