Creating a Special Object List According to the Translation LogLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

  • You are defined as a coordinator for all languages **** in transaction Translation Administration (LXE_MASTER) .
  • Your translator profile has authorization object OBJL with the value 01.

Context

The system automatically logs every translation that is entered and saved in transaction SE63. You can use the Translation Log function to create a special object list on the basis of entries in the translation log.

Example

Developers have spent the last two years creating objects with original language German, and translating them into English on an ad-hoc basis. You now want to put these objects into a special object list, so that you can generate a worklist for target language Japanese. You therefore create a special object list for:
  • Translation area 999999
  • All object types
  • Language enUS
  • All users
  • Objects translated into enUS during the past two years

Procedure

  1. Call transaction LXE_MASTER.
  2. Choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Special Object Lists End of the navigation path.

The Special Object Lists dialog box appears.

  3. Choose Translation Log.

The Create Object List From Translation Log screen appears.

  4. Enter a brief description of the special object list in the Name field.

Try to enter as meaningful a description as possible to help you recognize the special object list again later.

  5. In the Translation Area field, enter 999999 for ABAP development objects.
  6. If you only want the special object list to contain objects of a particular object type, use the input help to specify it in the Object Type field.

For example, if you only want the special object list to contain data element short text objects that have been recorded in the log, enter DTEL in this field. If you leave an asterisk in this field, the special object list will contain objects of all object types.

  7. Use the input help for the Language field and, in the dialog box that appears, select the target language.

For example, if you only want the special object list to contain objects for which the translation log includes entries for target language English, enter enUS in this field.

    Note

    **** stands for all languages.

  8. If you only want the special object list to contain objects that were translated by a particular user, enter the user name in the User Name field.

For example, if you only want the special object list to contain objects that were translated by SMITHJ, enter SMITHJ in this field. If you leave an asterisk in this field, the special object list will contain objects that were translated by all users into the specified target language.

  9. If you only want the special object list to contain objects that were translated in a specific period, maintain the Start Date and End Date fields accordingly.
  10. Schedule the job to run in the background.
  11. Return to the Special Object Lists dialog box and choose Job Overview to monitor the background job.

Results

The system creates a special object list in accordance with the parameters you defined.
