Procedure

The Special Object Lists dialog box appears.

  3. Choose Comparison.

  4. Enter a brief description of the special object list in the Name field.

Try to enter as meaningful a description as possible to help you recognize the special object list again later.

  5. Use the input help for the Object List 1 field to select the first object list you want to compare.
  6. Use the input help for the Object List 2 field to select the second object list you want to compare.
  7. Use the input help for the Operator field to determine how object lists 1 and 2 are compared:
    • A-B

The special object list will only contain objects that are in object list 1, but not in object list 2.

    • AND

The special object list will only contain objects that are common to both object lists.

    • OR

The special object list will contain all of the objects in both object lists.

    • XOR

The special object list will only contain objects that are in one object list, but not common to both object lists.

  8. If you want to exclude deleted objects from the special object list, enter X in the Check if Object Exists field.
  9. Schedule the job to run in the background.
  10. Return to the Special Object Lists dialog box and choose Job Overview to monitor the background job.

Results

The system creates a special object list in accordance with the parameters you defined.
