Provisions package An object for planning the authorized materials of a force element with regard to individual and bulk consumable goods.
A provisions package (PPA) represents a quantity/number of one or more consumable materials (such as the amount of fuel required in liters).
Use PPAs to describe the logistical requirements of a force element, that is, the materials ( individual and bulk consumable goods) that are needed once as initial supplies for an operation and whose stocks should not fall below a defined reorder point once subsequent supplies are being provided.
For information about editing PPAs, see Editing Material Objects .
Technically, the PPA is implemented as an iPPE node of type S_DFSSP.
PPAs have their own statusbut no validity period (in contrast to the assignment of a PPA to a force element).
A provisions package can have the following statuses from SAP status management:
Planned, Requested, Released by Material Owner, Approved, Locked, Flagged for Deletion, Deletion Requested, Obsolete
, and
Rejected
. See also
Status Networks
.
For PPAs, you can assign properties using the following header data, tab pages, fields/field groups, and pushbuttons in the application Authorized Materials and Material Packages :
Header Data
Provisions package
The unique object ID of the PPA.
Description
The long name of the PPA.
Basic Data
tab page
Material Owner
You specify who (organizational unit/force element, position, or person), as material owner, is responsible for processing a PPA. This enables you to control the assignment of authorizations for processing the objects.
Restriction to Material Group
Restricts the PPA to an external material group.
Status
The current status of the PPA
You can change the status of the PPA by choosing this pushbutton.
Materials

Material
The object ID of the assigned material
Initial Materials Reqmt
You specify the amount/quantity of materials that are initially required.

You can use a multiplier to change the initial requirement. To do so, select the required rows and choose
Multiply.
Enter the required multiplier and confirm your entries.
Reorder Point
You specify the stock quantity at which a subsequent supply is to be triggered.

You can use a multiplier to change the reorder point. To do so, select the required rows and choose
Multiply.
Enter the required multiplier and confirm your entries.
Material Description
A description of the assigned material.
Maintenance Status
The maintenance status of the assigned material specifies which user departments maintain the material master record.
Material Group
The material group of the assigned material.
Base Unit of Measure
The base unit of measure of the assigned material.
Order Unit
The order unit of the assigned material.
External Material Group
The external material group of the assigned material.
Force Elements
tab page
Displays the force elements to which the PPA is assigned as logistical requirements. For information about the properties of an assignment between the PPA and force element, see Logistical Requirements .
Technical Systems
tab page
You can specify for which technical systems that are mapped as material planning objects (MPOs) a PPA is defined.
MPO
The object ID of the technical system (MPO) for which the PPA is defined.
Description
A description of the technical system for which the PPA is defined.
Model
The model assigned to the MPO.
Material/Material Description
The material assigned to the MPO.
Classification
tab page
On this tab page, you can assign a PPA a class from SAP R/3 classification. For more information, see the documentation for the classification system in SAP Library under
SAP ERP Central Component
→
Cross-Application Components
→
Classification.

You can also define relationships between characteristics using the functions of the classification system (object dependencies). For example, you can use the function module /ISDFPS/PNOID_CL_ATTR_CHK to query defined dependencies between provisions packages (multiple rating).
Documents
tab page
As in the case of force elements, you can also assign documents to PPAs. See also Documents .
WBS Elements
tab page
The WBS elements assigned to the PPA.
Texts
tab page
In the
Description
field, you can define one name for each
language
required, if necessary. The name assigned when the PPA is created is transferred automatically for the logon language.
The properties of PPAs are stored in the following tables:

You can show a number of additional fields using the

functions.
For this object, you can define your own fields, without the need for any extra modifications. To do so, use the include CI_PNMPA in table /ISDFPS/PNMPA.

Define iPPE Node Types
. By assigning objects of different node types, you can differentiate the logistical requirements by type.
You can also use additionally created node types to create PPAs that are to be used as
templates for creating PPAs. In this case, specify type S_DFSSP as the
reference node type
in the above IMG activity.

You must prevent these node types from being assigned to the force element. See also Additional Functions for Assignments .
PPAs can be assigned to force elements as logistical requirements .
PPAs that are assigned to a force element can be assigned to relocation steps .
