 Editing Material Objects

Creating Material Planning Objects (MPOs) or Material Containers

You are in the application Authorized Materials and Material Packages (edit mode).

  1. Choose Create.

  2. In the Applicatn field, select Authorized Materials .

  3. In the Type field, select Material Planning Object or Material Container .

  4. Choose Create.

  5. In the Description field, enter a long name.

  6. On the tab pages, assign the required properties.

  7. Save your changes.

    The object is created with the status Planned .

Material planning object: define model

You are in the application Authorized Materials and Material Packages (edit mode) and have chosen an MPO:

  1. Choose the Models tab page.

  2. In the Material field, select a material master record.

  3. Define the required properties.

  4. Choose Save .

Material planning object: define additional parts

You are in the application Authorized Materials and Material Packages (edit mode) and have chosen an MPO:

  1. Choose the Additional Parts tab page.

  2. In the MPO field, select the required MPO.

  3. Define the required properties.

  4. Choose Save .

Material planning object: define component BOM

You are in the application Authorized Materials and Material Packages (edit mode) and have chosen an MPO:

  1. Choose the Components tab page.

  2. In the Description field, give a description of the component BOM.

  3. Double-click this component BOM to select it.

  4. On the Alternative tab page, enter the required components.

    • Choose the required MPO in the MPO field, and define the required properties.

    • Or select the Free Text field and enter a text in the Description field.

  5. Choose Save .

Create a provisions package

You are in the application Authorized Materials and Material Packages (edit mode).

  1. Choose Create.

  2. In the Applicatn field, select Material Packages .

  3. In the Type field, select Provisions Package .

    Note Note

    If you have created an iPPE node type for creating template provisions packages (see Provisions Package ) and want to create such a template, select the relevant entry instead.

  4. Choose Create.

  5. In the Description field, enter a long name.

  6. On the tab pages, assign the required properties.

  7. Save your changes.

    The object is created with the status Planned .

Creating/Deriving Equipment Packages

You are in the application Authorized Materials and Material Packages (edit mode).

  1. Choose Create.

  2. In the Applicatn field, select Material Packages .

  3. In the Type field, select Equipment Package .

  4. Choose Create.

  5. In the Description field, enter a long name.

  6. On the tab pages, assign the required properties.

    If required, you can use another equipment package or material container as a template to define the material items. To do so, choose the Material Items tab page and enter the required reference object in the Reference Object field. Confirm your entry. The allowed material items are copied from the template.

    Note Note

    If you selected a material container, any models indicated as Preferred for Detailed Planning are copied. If one MPO is assigned more than once to the material container (with different material indicators), these entries are aggregated and assigned. All assignments are indicated initially as mandatory parts .

    End of the note.

    The system does not check or synchronize subsequent changes to the template or derived objects.

  7. Save your changes.

    The object is created with the status Planned .

Edit a material object

You are in the application Authorized Materials and Material Packages (edit mode).

  1. Choose Loading.

  2. Select the required object.

    To do so, use the input help for the Node field and then the input help for the Node Type field.

  3. Choose Add.

    The selected object is displayed.

  4. On the tab pages, edit the object properties and save your changes.

Delete a material object

You are in the application Authorized Materials and Material Packages (edit mode).

  1. Select the required object (as described above for editing).

  2. Choose Delete.

    The object is deleted.
