Definition

Documents of various formats (such as text documents, presentations, and graphics) that are assigned to a force element for description purposes.

Use

To describe the mission or the properties of a force element, for example, you can assign documents to the force element. These documents are stored in document management in the SAP system.

Structure

The following fields and pushbuttons are available in the Structures Workbench on the Documents tab page:

  • Ty.

    You can enter the document type, which is part of the document key and which classifies the document by its characteristics and the resulting required organizational procedures.

  • Document

    You enter the relevant document number, which, as the main part of the document key, identifies the document.

  • DPt

    You can enter a document part, which is maintained as a document in its own right.

  • Vr

    You can enter a document version to identify the version of the document.

  • Description

    You can enter a short text that describes the document.

  • Status

    You can enter a description of the current document status.

  • Hr

    The document can be included in a hierarchy. If a higher-level document exists or if other documents are assigned directly below the document in question, the system sets this indicator.

    The hierarchical display of documents is shown in the function tree in the selection area in the Structures Workbench .

  • Rev. Level

    The revision level indicates the change status of a document. Depending on the document type, it is possible to control whether a revision level is to be assigned.

  • Object Desc.

    You can enter an object description for the object relationship.

  • Display Document

    You can navigate to document management and display the properties of a given document ( Display Document application, transaction CV03N) by choosing this pushbutton.

  • Display Originals

    You can display the documents by choosing this pushbutton.

  • Long Text for Link

    You can create a descriptive text for a document link by choosing this pushbutton.

  • Create Document

    You can copy a document to document management and assign it simultaneously by choosing this pushbutton.

Integration

Before you can store documents, you have to set up Document Management in the SAP system. The Document Management processing functions are also available in the Project System . Assigned documents are displayed both on the Documents tab page and in the function tree in the selection area in the Structures Workbench .
