Object documentation Sites Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Definition

A site is a physical dataset that exists outside the consolidated database (CDB). It is a receiver and/or supplier of data for the replication defined on the CRM Server. There are different site types, such as mobile terminals (mobile clients), an SAP backend system, or non-SAP systems.

In addition to the delivered site types, you can create your own user-specific site types. For details, see Customer-Defined Site Types for Other Components.

Use

You can assign subscriptions, company employees , and organizations to a site.

To display sites that have already been defined, choose the object type Site in the Object Type list box. If required make an entry in the Object Name field and choose the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text icon.

You can only create additional sites or change or delete sites that already exist or extract data for sites or deactivate sites by choosing the corresponding function.

You can schedule sites of type mobile client. You can deactivate sites for a certain period in time and determine replacement sites that receive the data for the scheduled site. You can also define templates for substitute rules.

Integration

You must assign a mobile site to the computer (client) of a mobile employee on the respective client. For more information, see Assigning and Reassigning a Site ID to the Mobile Client.

You can release mobile sites that have already been assigned in the Object information area by using Release from client when these sites are displayed in the Administration Console.

Mobile sites that have not yet been assigned or that have been released again are identified as such when they are displayed in the Object information area.
