Procedure documentation Extracting Data for Sites Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

Using the Create Extract function you can, for example in the case of data loss, extract the complete or partial dataset for a site from the consolidated database (CDB).

Simple distributed data is not considered in this and consequently for the data extract,no subscriptions are offered to simple distributed publications.

Prerequisites

You have chosen a site in the navigation window, the Extras ® Create extract entry in the menu bar or the corresponding icon from the application toolbar, and have reached the Admin Console – Extract screen.

Procedure

You are able to create either a complete or a partial data extract for a site.  You should bear in mind that the data is always extracted by replication object and therefore for all the subscriptions belonging to a site, for which a specific replication object is assigned, regardless of whether you have selected these subscription(s) for a data extract or not. The extract per subscription is not possible. You enter the subscriptions only to choose the replication objects.

Note

Data cannot be extracted for sites that do not have any subcriptions assigned to or have only simple subscriptions assigned to. Deletion messages are sent to the site types that have been released for synchronization BDoc types in the BDoc Modeler.

·        If you would like to extract the complete dataset for a site, select the site in the navigation area under Site/Subscription and choose the Complete button. The display in the Extract column changes from None to Complete.

·        If you want to choose replication objects for the extract via subscriptions, expand the site in the navigation area under Site/Subscription, select the subscription(s) whose data you want to extract and choose the Complete button The display in the Extract column changes from None to Complete for the subscription(s) and from None to Partial for the site (unless you have selected all subscriptions, in which case the display also changes to Complete for the site).

·        If you would like to extract data only partially for individual replication objects, double-click on the subscription. All the replication objects of this subscription are then displayed in the right-hand screen area under RepObj/DepObj, including the corresponding replication type under Repl.type. In addition, the name of the site is displayed in the Site name field, the name of the subscription in the Subscription field and the status of the extraction in the Extract status field.

·        Select the replication objects whose data you want to extract in the RepExtr column in the  Replication object group box. The display in the Extract column in the Site and Subscription group box changes from None to Partial not only for the given subscription but also for the entire site.

·        If there is an intelligent replication object with dependent replication objects among the replication objects, this replication object can be expanded in the display in the Replication object group box.

·        You are now able to include these dependent replication objects in your data extract. Select the checkbox in the RepExtr column for this purpose. The display in the column Extract in the group box Site and Subscription changes from None to Partial.

·        By means of the None button you can reset the extraction status of a site or subscription at any time from Complete or Partial to None. In this way, possible selections in the RepExtr column in the Replication object group box are automatically removed.

·        With Bulk Extract you can choose one or more sites or one or more replication objects for the extract. To include dependencies between the objects in the extract, choose Include dependent objects.

If you have made all the necessary settings, choose the Extract ® Execute entry in the menu bar or the corresponding button in the application toolbar. The required data is now extracted from the CDB.
