Procedure documentation Changing a Curriculum  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Prerequisites

You have created the relevant curriculum type and curriculum.

Procedure

...

       1.      On the SAP Easy Access screen, in the SAP Menu choose Human Resources ® SAP Learning Solution ® Courses ® Dates ® Create/Change Curriculum.

The Initial Access: Curriculum Maintenance screen appears.

       2.      Enter the curriculum you want to change.

       3.      Choose Edit.

The Curriculum: Name – Specification Complete screen appears.

Note

The period you select restricts the courses offered for the individual curriculum type elements.

You can change the period at any time if all courses in the curriculum lie within this period.

       4.      Under Course Sequence, select the row containing the course type with the courses you want to change.

Note

The curriculum and its course sequence is set up like a stack. To be able to change the selected course type and its courses, you must reduce the stack down to the row containing the course you want to change. To do this, you select the row with the course type (including courses) to transport the course to be changed from the lower area of Course Sequence to the upper area Next Course. You can only make changes from this area.

       5.      To transport the course type and its courses to the Next Course area, choose Back or double-click the selected row.

Note

Navigation Tips

You can restrict or extend the number of courses offered by specifying a language or a location under Filter.
You can increase the overall capacity of the curriculum by selecting multiple courses.
The SAP system displays the courses that are possible for this period in the table Next Course – Course. Depending on the period, the table may not contain any entries. In this case, no course exists for the specified language or selected location. Change the language and/or location.

The selection of courses on offer is also affected by the courses offered in previous positions of the curriculum. The start date for which a course can be offered for selection depends on the end date of the preceding course. If, for example, you select a course that is scheduled a long time in the future, the SAP system searches for a follow-up course on dates that lie further in the future. If the SAP system is unable to find a course that occurs in the future, the curriculum is incomplete and/or inconsistent and cannot be edited. In this instance, you must remove the courses that are scheduled too far in the future and choose alternative courses scheduled earlier. In this way, you will be able to complete the curriculum.

       6.      From the table Next Course – Course Type, select the course type whose courses should be used for the next curriculum element.

Note

To update the entries in the table Next Course – Course type, choose Update or double-click the selection.

       7.      Select at least one course from the table Next Course – Course Type.

Make the changes you require, for example, select a different course of the course type, or change the start and end dates of a WBT.

Note

Note About Changes

You can select a different course from the list of possible courses for the curriculum.

If you want to remove a course from the curriculum for which bookings have been made, you must first rebook the participants or cancel the bookings. To do so, click the Participants icon to access the Participation screen. There you can rebook or cancel the bookings.

In addition to delivery methods, for which a start and end date is fixed, such as classroom training, the curriculum also supports Web-based delivery methods that have a fixed start and end date. You can change the start and end date of such courses in the table Next Course – Course. The start and end date is checked against the conditions specified in the Completion Specifications (5008) infotype for the course type.

       8.      To transfer the selected courses to the course sequence of the curriculum, double-click the selected row or choose Next.

       9.      Repeat steps 4 to 9 until you have made all the changes you require.

   10.      Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Save.

Caution

You can only save the curriculum as active after all courses have been entered in the curriculum for all course types in the curriculum type.
