Definition

This infotype lets you make time specifications for a course. It can be used for courses that have the delivery methods listed below:

·        Online test

·        Web-based training (WBT)

Use

It is your task as administrator to enter the time specifications for a course. You can make the following specifications:

·        Maximum completion time

·        Minimum completion time

·        Optimum completion time

Note

The specifications for the completion time serve only to provide information. They do not specify the period of time for which the content can be accessed.

·        License period

A course delivered in the form of e-learning is only available for this period.

·        Last availability time

After this date, the course content is no longer available. For example, this could be because the license for purchased course content has expired.

·        Number of accesses allowed

The maximum number of times course content can be accessed from the Learning Portal for courses run on the Content Player (online)  This value allows you to specify how often course content can be accessed from the Learning Portal. Value 0 means that there is no limit to how often it can be accessed.

·        Cancellations

You can influence the response of Web-based training courses when a cancellation is made. The following options exist:

¡        A course can only be canceled if it has not yet started and if no data is available on the learning progress.

¡        A course can always be canceled, irrespective of whether it started in the past or not.

You can also specify options for the follow-up processing of a course. These are:

·        You specify the percentage of learning objectives that participants have to achieve in order to pass the course.

·        You specify the percentage of learning objects that participants have to complete in order to pass the course. This specification is not relevant for online tests.

·        You can combine these specifications.

·        If you do not make these specifications, a course (for example, a WBT course) is classified as passed as soon as the course has been booked and started.

The qualifications imparted by the course type are included in the follow-up processing of the course. This requires that the learner has passed the course.  Learners perform follow-up processing for the course themselves in the Learning Portal. Here, follow-up processing is referred to as Complete Course.

As administrator, you can also maintain the Course Type Content (5006) infotype for a course.
