Delivery Method (Infotype 5007) 

Definition

This infotype specifies the method used to deliver or impart a course. Delivery methods can be:

·        Classroom training

·        External classroom training

·        Virtual classroom

·        External VC

·        Online test

·        External Online Test

·        Web-based training (WBT)

The course is played by the SAP Content Player in the Learning Portal.

·        External WBT

The course is made available in the Learning Portal by means of a SOAP interface (Simple Object Access Protocol).

·        Static WBT

The course is made available by means of an executable URL in the Learning Portal.

·        Curriculum

The delivery method is further defined by means of attributes:

·        Whether the course is time-dependent

·        Whether the course is location-dependent

·        Whether the course is classified as instruction, test or curriculum

·        Whether the course content is required in electronic form from a repository

The curriculum includes several courses and has the same attributes as each of the delivery methods.

Use

When you as administrator create acourse type, you assign it a delivery method and descriptive attributes. This is done using the Delivery Method infotype.

If you use the delivery method virtual classroom, you must maintain the following infotype for the course in addition to the descritive attributes:

·        Course Type Content Static (5006)

If you use the delivery methods Web-based training (WBT) or online test, you maintain the following infotypes for the course as well:

·        Course Type Content (5006)

·        Completion Specifications (5008)

If you use the delivery methods external WBT, external classroom training, external VC or external online test, you also maintain the following descriptive data for the course:

·        Infotype: External Course Catalog Connection (5042)

·        You use training provider of type U, which uses the External Training Provider (5043) infotype.

If you use the delivery method Static WBT, you must maintain the following infotype for the course in addition to the descriptive attributes:

·        Course Content Static (5003)

Infotype maintenance

On the SAP Easy Access screen, in the SAP Menu choose Human Resources ® SAP Learning Solution ® Settings ® Current Settings ® Course Type.
