Curriculum Editing
In Training Management, you create, plan, or change a curriculum so that you can later book, rebook, or cancel participants for all its courses in one step. When you create a curriculum, you select a curriculum type and then select the courses that should be taken for the curriculum. You select these from the courses offered for the curriculum type elements. You make the curriculum available to learners through the Learning Portal.
When you create or plan a curriculum, you only have to select the courses that are used as curriculum elements. All other data is automatically generated by the system.
When you create a curriculum, you select courses (elements) for each of the elements of the curriculum type. The selection procedure is done step-by-step. First you select courses for the curriculum type elements that have sequence rules (in the sequence specified in the curriculum type), and then for the curriculum type elements without sequence rules.
You can change a curriculum you created, remove a course from it or add a new one without affecting the validity of the curriculum. Validity refers to the fact that the courses in the curriculum must be booked in the sequence specified by the training administrator. The sequence is made up of individual positions. Each position is assigned multiple courses of the same course type. There is no time conflict between the different positions, in other words, all courses at position n lie after all courses at position n-1 and before all courses at position n+1. If a course is assigned a fixed position in the curriculum, it belongs to a sequence rule. You can assign courses with and without sequence rules as elements of a curriculum.
You can change curricula. The following change functions are available:
· You can remove a course that is no longer required from a curriculum. You cannot remove a course if bookings have been made for it. The system issues an error message if you try to do so. If you want to remove a course from a curriculum for which there are bookings, you must first rebook the participants for another course at the same position in the curriculum, or cancel the bookings, remove the course, and where relevant rebook the participants for the new curriculum.
You can add a course for which there are no bookings to a curriculum as a new element.
· You can change the (start and end) dates of a WBT. The WBT can be an element with or without sequence rules.
The following applies to the start date of a WBT with sequence rules:
¡ If the preceding course is not a WBT, the earliest start date of the WBT is the latest end date of all preceding courses. If several WBTs are to be released simultaneously, they must be in the same position but in different groups.
¡ If the preceding course is a WBT, the earliest start date of the WBT is one day after the start date of the preceding WBT. If several WBTs are to be released simultaneously, they must be in the same position but in different groups.
The following applies to the end date of a WBT with sequence rules:
¡ The end date may lie anywhere up to the maximum end date of the curriculum. In other words, the same applies to the end date of a WBT with sequence rules as to the end date of a WBT without sequence rules. There may be overlaps with courses in subsequent positions.
You can flag a course that is included in a curriculum as exclusive to the curriculum. The course can then only be booked as part of the curriculum. You can specify the booking options as follows:
· For the course type: Specify the booking option in the Course Type Info infotype (1029) or in the relevant field. Here you specify the following for all courses of a course type:
¡ Course can only be booked as part of the curriculum
¡ Course can be booked independent of the curriculum as well
· For the course: Specify the booking option in the Course Info infotype (1026) or in the relevant field. You specify the following for this course only:
¡ Course can only be booked as part of the curriculum
¡ Course can be booked independent of the curriculum as well
¡ The option for booking the course as part of the curriculum is specified for the course type (not the course)

You make bookings for a curriculum in Training Management or in the Learning Portal of SAP Learning Solution. Bookings can only be made for individual participants (person, user, external person, contact person). Group participants cannot be booked for a curriculum.
After the system check has been run, the curriculum and all participation data is consistent. Curriculum consistency is mandatory; the following functions are not allowed:
¡ You cannot change a curriculum that has been followed up or historically recorded.
¡ You cannot change a locked curriculum.
¡ You cannot change a course without sequence rules in a curriculum to a course with sequence rules.
¡ You must observe the sequence rules defined when you add a course to a curriculum.
You cannot insert a course assigned to position n before a course at p n-1 nor after a course at position n+1.
