Updating the Simulation Version You use this function if you want to take account of the current status of the scheduling for the planning versionin the simulation versionthat you are currently processing (for example, on the DS planning board ).
During the update, the system merges the planning data from the planning version with that of the simulation version. During merging, the system adopts only planning data that has a higher priority than the simulative scheduling in the simulation version. The following have higher priority, for example:
Confirmed operations
Deleted orders
Changed order quantities
Orders changed in SAP R/3
Example
If, for example, you have shifted an operation to another date/time on the DS planning board (that is, in the simulation version) and the operation in the planning version has been confirmed in the meantime, the system adopts the confirmed operation in the simulation version. The confirmation has a higher priority than the rescheduling. If the operation in the planning version was also "only" rescheduled, the date of the operation in the simulation version has a higher priority.
You can interactively invoke the update function in the application. In the planning board profile, you can specify for the DS planning board (
Update Interval
field) that the system is to automatically update the simulation version at regular intervals.
To update the simulation version, choose
Update
. The system updates the simulation version and displays the updated data. If you execute the update on the DS planning board, the system determines the
objects to be displayed on the planning board
in exactly the same way as when the planning board is invoked, that is:
In the case of a directly invoked planning board , based on the work area
In the case of the planning board invoked in order processing , based on the order being processed
In the case of the DS planning board invoked in the product planning table , based on the resources and products in the product planning table
