Defining the View for Accessing the DS Planning Board You can invoke the detailed scheduling planning board via different menu paths in the following ways:
Using the v
ariable view
and optionally v
iews 1, 2,
and
3
on an initial screen when you invoke the DS planning board, you can freely choose the planning version and the
profiles
(for example, the work area) with which the system is to set up the planning board . You choose this option if you want to work on the planning board on a variable basis, with different work areas and planning versions for instance.
With the
views 1
to
3
, you can also invoke the DS planning board directly – that is, without the initial screen for profile selection. You specify the profiles (for example, the work area), in user maintenance. This option is makes sense if you always want to work with the same settings (for example, with the same work area and the same planning version).
You can also create different simulation versionsfor a planning version with the directly invoked DS planning board. You can compare the simulation versions using the plan monitor or the DS evaluations for example. You can also continue processing the simulation versions later with the DS planning board and, if necessary, incorporate them in the planning version.
To call up the planning board without the initial screen using one of the menu paths V
iew 1
to V
iew 3,
you must specify an
overall profile
in which the
Skip Initial Screen
indicator is set. You do this in user maintenance for the SET/GET parameter for this menu path (see table). The overall profile contains all settings for the planning board.
