 Editing the Simulation Version

Use

You can do the following with a simulation versionthat you created with the directly invoked detailed scheduling planning board (DS planning board) or the resource planning table:

  • Process it further using the detailed scheduling planning board or the resource planning table

  • Incorporate it in the planning versionif necessary

  • Copy it and save it under another name

  • Delete it

    Note Note

You work simulatively on the DS planning board and the resource planning table on the basis of the planning version for which you have invoked the DS planning board or the resource planning table. On the directly invoked DS planning board and the resource planning table, you can explicitly save the simulative planning under a certain name as a simulation version for the planning version. You can compare simulation versions with the plan monitor or using the DS evaluations for example.

    End of the note.

Because you have the option of selecting further objects during the application via Extend Selection… , the system not only applies the data from the work area to select the objects, but also takes any temporary settings into account when it loads a simulation version.

  • If you have not changed the settings from the work area on the initial screen, the system uses the data from the work area to determine the objects.

  • The system uses the sets that exist at the time of saving for the simulation version.

    • All sets that you have changed, deleted, or added on the initial screen of the detailed scheduling planning board or resource planning table.

    • All sets that you selected in addition to the selection via the work area via Extend Selection during the application .

  • If you saved the temporary data as a new work area, the system determines the selection of the objects for the simulation version via the new work area.

Procedure

  1. Starting from the SAP Easy Access Supply Chain Management screen, choose Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Production Planning Next navigation step Interactive Production Planning Next navigation step Detailed Scheduling Next navigation step Simulation Version. End of the navigation path

  2. Choose the desired simulation version.

  3. Choose the desired function.

    Function

    Use

    Process in graphic form

You use this function to continue processing the simulation version with the DS planning board.

For more information, see Scheduling with the Detailed Scheduling Planning Board .

    Process in tabular form

You use this function to process the simulation version with the resource planning table.

For more information, see Scheduling with the Resource Planning Table .

    Adopt

You choose this function If you want to incorporate planning data from the simulation version into the planning version

For more information, see Adopting or Saving the Simulation Version .

    Copy

If you choose this function, a dialog box appears in which you can enter the name you want to use to save the simulation version.

    Delete

You use this function to delete a simulation version.

  1. The system performs the chosen function and invokes the detailed scheduling planning board or the resource planning table with the simulation version.

    Note Note

In connection with Edit and Adopt, you should note that simulation versions quickly become obsolete if the planning in the planning version changes rapidly.

    End of the note.
