Selection of Objects to be Displayed

Use

When you call up the detailed scheduling planning board , the system automatically selects the resources, products, orders, and operations that are displayed in the detailed scheduling planning board. The system displays rows in the charts or graphical objects in the diagram section of the rows for the relevant activities, operations, or orders.

You can interactively hide and show objects again in the detailed scheduling planning board.

In the propagation range, you specify the objects for which you can change planning.

Features

A distinction should be made between the following objects when determining the objects to be displayed:

Objects that can be displayed in the detailed scheduling planning board

Objects that are transferred to the detailed scheduling planning board

Objects that are actually displayed

Objects that can be displayed in the detailed scheduling planning board

The following objects can be displayed in the DS planning board:

Resources with an available capacity that is scheduled on an exact time scale:

¡         Single-activity resources

Single mixed resources

Multiactivity resources

Multimixed resources

Orders in Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) and their activities and operations

Orders in Supply Network Planning (SNP) and their activities and operations

You can determine according to your requirements, that only activities, operations and orders for either PP/DS or SNP are displayed in a product, order or operation chart.

Objects that are transferred to the detailed scheduling planning board

When you call up the detailed scheduling planning board in order processing or in the product planning table , the system determines these objects depending on the context. If you call up the detailed scheduling planning board directly , the object selection is user-defined. This is displayed in the following table.

Calling up the Planning Board

Objects Transferred to the Planning Board

Directly in the Production Planning menu

Objects that you have defined using the work area

For performance reasons, you should specify in the work area that only objects that you have explicitly specified are to be transferred.

In order processing

The order you are currently processing

All orders from the corresponding pegging structure

The resources on which the orders are processed

The products that are produced from the orders

In the product planning table

The resources and products from the navigation tree in the product planning table

The orders for these resources and products

Objects that are actually displayed

In the following table, you see which rows in the table section and which graphical objects in the diagram section of the relevant row can be displayed for each chart type.

Chart

Displayable table rows

Displayable graphical objects

Resource chart

One row for each transferred resource

Per row, all operations that are processed on this resource

Product chart

One row for each transferred product

Per row, all orders that produce this order

Order chart

One row for each transferred order or for each operation or each activity of all transferred orders

Depending on the row, the order, the operation or the activity

Operation chart

One row for each transferred operation or for each activity of the transferred operations

Depending on the row, the operation or the activity

You specify which of these objects are actually displayed in the detailed scheduling planning board, as well as how they are displayed for each chart in the planning board profile. You can use the decision tables to suppress the display of rows or graphical objects for any objects; the system uses the decision tables to filter out the objects to be displayed from the objects transferred to the detailed scheduling planning board. For more information on decision tables, see the implementation guide (IMG) for the planning board profile

Note that in production planning for the process industry (PP-PI) in the resource chart, the system only displays operations as individual graphical objects. In all other charts, it displays operations and phases as individual graphical objects.

For performance reasons, you should specify that as few graphical objects as possible are to be displayed and additional information (for example, non-working times for resources or for alternative resources) that you do not require, is not to be included.
