Search and Data Output in the Specification Information System

Purpose

Prerequisites

In Customizing for Product Safety, you have carried out the IMG activities in the Specification Information System section.

You have authorization to display specification data.

Note

The usage check is carried out for the active usages of a data record for a value assignment. If there is no active usage for a data record, the system checks if the user has general authorization.

If you want to use different output variants, you need display authorization for the display variant group EMPTY.

Process Flow

When you access the specification information system you have the same search options as in specification management (see Specification Search).

Note

In Customizing for Product Safety you can define other user exits for specification searches in the IMG activity Manage User Exits. These are then available in the initial screens for specification management and the specification information system.

The results of the search are displayed in the specification information system hit list and can be extended, refined, or reduced from here. In the hit list, you select the specifications for which you want to display data in the specification information system.

From the hit list, you can either go to the property tree and display individual properties with additional information in list form in the SAP System or choose an output variant and start output. The following output variants are defined in the standard system:

All output variants are realized as user exits so that you can define additional output variants of your own in the IMG activity Manage User Exits in Customizing for Product Safety. The output variants contained in the standard system and all other output variants defined in Customizing are listed in the group overview of output variants in the EMPTY group.

Except for the output variant to display regulatory list assignments (SUBLIST), you can use all output variants to display data about value assignment types. Depending on the Customizing settings, you can specify value assignment types as follows:

You assign value assignment types to output variants as the default setting in Customizing.

You define in Customizing that users may choose the value assignment types within the specification information system for certain output variants before output.

You use the output variants defined in Customizing as templates to create your own output variants in the specification information system. To do so, you can copy and edit output variants in the group overview of output variants. In the group overview, you can also move the new output variants between the different groups, delete them, and edit the header data of the output variants. You can use the new output variants for output at any time just like the ones created in Customizing.
