You can create, change, or display a property. Below is a description of how to create a property.

Above the text in the initial processing screen, choose Create.

Depending on the parameter setting in Customizing, the number of the property can either be assigned externally or internally.

To simplify the property creation process, choose Create with Template. This function creates a property with the data from an existing property. You may adapt the data to the new property.

When creating a property and a building, the address of the business entity is automatically copied. However you can enter an address that differs from that of the business entity.

The more details on the address you enter in the dialog box, the faster the system will work. If the system has already stored several addresses for the client, a dialog box displays an overview of the existing addresses that match your selection criteria.

If you choose Release, you release the property for account assignment.

Here you enter data on building law, usage and relevant dates.

In the display mode, you can call up the validity periods with the buttons Current Time Slot and Complete Period.

In this tab you define methods for option rate determination. The method that has been defined in Customizing as being the default method is defaulted by the system here. However you can change this setting under Option Rate Detail.

Here you can establish a time-dependent link to a profit center and a business area.

Here you assign business partners who have a certain relationship with the property (SAP Business Partner).

There is a setting in Customizing for Real Estate Management to determine whether or not the system automatically creates and assigns a functional location belonging to the Plant Maintenance (PM) component when a property is created; you have the option of manually creating and assigning a functional location here (for example, if a tenant reports a breakdown).

Here you can establish or remove the link between a property and an architectural object

The link has to be initiated with the superordinate object in the architectural structure. If, for instance, you wish to assign a property to a property area in the structure locality – property area – architectural space, you first have to assign the locality to a business object.

On the other hand, you can only remove the link by starting with the lowest level object in the architectural structure.
