Creating an Architectural
Structure
b) Detail view
Make the following settings in Customizing:
· Maintain architectural object categories
· Define permitted object type hierarchy
To do this, choose the following path in the application menu:
Customizing ® Flexible Real Estate Management ® Master Data ® Architectural View ® Architectural Object Type ® Process Architectural Object Types ® Define Allowed Object Type Hierarchy
...
1. Always create the object on the highest level of the hierarchy first.
All object types can be defined as being the highest-level object of the hierarchy. The following object types are recommended as top objects:
¡ Locality
¡ Architectural building
¡ Architectural property
You have to define in
Customizing whether an object type (such as a building) can be used as the top
object in the hierarchy (see Prerequisites).
2. You have to link all other objects with the higher-level object that is just above them in the hierarchy (General Data tab).
Any given architectural object can only be entered once in the hierarchy, or it has to be time-dependent (with different valid-from and valid-to dates); in other words an object can only be used once in the hierarchy for a given time period.
An architectural object type can only be used once in any one level of the hierarchy. The following hierarchy is not possible:
Building – Floor – Building section – Floor – Space
Architectural hierarchies are
company-code-independent.
You can link several usage objects to an architectural object if they belong to different company codes.
General Data
Specify the architectural object type (such as a
building), a number for your architectural object and a name (such as
PHL/SSC/B3.01). If the object to be created is not the top level of the
hierarchy, you have to link it to the next highest object in the hierarchy by
choosing
Assign Higher-Level Object.
Keep in mind that the ID of the architectural
object has to be unique in all hierarchies. Otherwise, the system
cannot find the object independently of the hierarchy when you
use Direct object selection.
The
address can be copied from the higher-level object by choosing
Inherit Address.
Number Assignment
For more information on number assignment for architectural objects, refer to topic.
Assignments
Here you can define attributes like location, transportation connections and main usage type.
Property/Building
On the Building and Property tabs, you define characteristics that are to be copied to the usage view when you link the objects (such as development plan, location, property quality, actual usage and planned usage, and so on)
Dates
Here you can store dates relevant to, for example, the construction year or the construction plans. These dates are for information only.
Measurements
See Measurements.
In
display mode, you can call up validity periods by choosing
Current Time Slot and
Complete Period.
For further information on time-dependent entries, see Management of Time Slots.
Plant Maintenance
You make settings in Customizing to determine whether a functional location is automatically created in Plant Maintenance when you create an architectural object. To do so, choose the following path in the application menu:
Customizing ® Flexible Real Estate ® Master Data ® Usage View ® PM Integration: Settings per Object Type
When processing an architectural object, you can create (and delete) more functional locations manually in addition to the automatically generated one.
Usage Objects
The objects that appear in this table are the usage objects that you linked to the architectural structure in the usage view.
However you can also create a corresponding
usage object for an architectural object you have already created by choosing
Usage Object in display and change
mode.
This overview graphic shows an example of an architectural structure.
