Definition
You use master data as a basis for managing transactions and positions in the SAP Treasury component. Master data is general data that is the same for all transactions. You therefore only have to enter it once.
Master data includes:
Business Partner data, Standing Instructions, Class master data, Securities Account master data, and Position Indicator, as well as data for entering Security Prices, Reference Interest rates and Index Values.Use
The system uses master data to process business transactions. You must create master data before you execute a transaction.
ExampleMaster data is also frequently used as selection criteria for generating evaluation reports.
The system also uses class master data, for example, to determine the account assignment reference.
Structure
We recommend that you enter master data in a certain order, since you have to create some master data before you can enter other master data.

To enter a class, you first have to create the issuer of the security as the business partner in the role of issuer.
Integration
You maintain master data both in the securities and basic functions areas. This means you can create the business partner in either of these areas.
However, you are only allowed to maintain the bank and house bank data in the basic functions area. You can enter trader authorizations here too.
You are only allowed to create and process class master data, securities account master data and position indicators in the securities area.
