Enhancements to the Administration of Time Off Entitlements
Description
Developments in the administration of time off entitlements have been
extended for Release 4.5A. Comprehensive functions and user interfaces
are now available, which you can use to manage all types of time off entitlements and leave types.
New Functions for Managing Time Off Entitlements
1. Default Values for Creating the Absence Quotas Infotype (2006)
Until now, new functions for accruing absence quotas were directed at
users of time evaluation. You can now use the Customizing tables to:
a) Propose default values to aid time data administrators when they create the Absence Quotas infotype (2006).
The Absence Quotas infotype is also linked to the Hiring action.
You can convert collective agreement or enterprise regulations that
stipulate a leave or absence entitlement for new employees when they join your enterprise.
b) Represent relatively simple situations regardless of the results of
time evaluation, such as the proportionate calculation of entitlements
per payroll period, month or year. You can use the Generation of Absence Quotas report (
RPTQTA00) for this purpose.
For further information, see the section
2. "Mini-schema" for Accruing Absence Quotas
If you do not use time evaluation for all or some groups of employees
in your enterprise, you can still take advantage of the quota accrual
feature in time evaluation. You can use the schema TQTA to generate only absence quotas.
A new Time Management status
has been incorporated in the Planned Working Time infotype (0007) for this purpose. It
permits time evaluation without integrating the results with Payroll Accounting.
3. Compensation of Time Off Entitlements
You can now remunerate time off entitlements from the Absence Quotas infotype (2006).
For more information, see the release information Compensation of Absence Quotas.
4. Report for Displaying Quota Information
You can use the new Display Absence Quota Information report (
RPTQTA10
) to create overviews of employees' time off credits according to various criteria. This allows you to plan
provisions according to organizational units, for example.
5. Displaying Time Accounts in the Internet
Your employees can now check their current time account balances in the Internet or Intranet.
For further information, see the release information on the
Internet Application Components in Time Management.
6. BAPI for Loading Quota Information
A new BAPI
BAPI_TIMEQUOTA_GETDETAILEDLIST
is available for loading information on time quotas.
Enhancements to Existing Functions
1. Enhancements to Absence Valuation
In Payroll Accounting, you can now valuate absences according to the quota they have deducted.
For more information, see the release information Enhancements to Absence Valuation.
2. Enhancements to the Quota Overview
The layout of the quota overview is now more clearly arranged and user- friendly:
- The decision tree of feature LLREP has been enhanced. Time data
administrators no longer need to fill selection screens if they start the report from the quota overview menu.
3. Taking Account of Challenges In Absence Quota Accrual
You can now control the accrual of quota entitlements according to an
employee's challenge group and degree of challenge. This enables you to
set special regulations for the calculation of leave entitlement for challenged employees.
Change system parameters in customizing
For more information on the extensive functions for managing time accounts, see

(2013) and Challenge (0004) infotypes.
