SAP CAMPBELL Scenario

This business situation is based on the assumption that a retail store only has a connection to the central SAP R/3 System at certain times. A regular link to the central SAP System is required for data transfer purposes.

This business scenario is aimed at retail enterprises that do not require a constant connection to the SAP System.

For this scenario, SAP CAMPBELL Time & Attendance must be used for time recording. With this scenario, you can also use the SAP CAMPBELL System to set up a local, redundant time evaluation, and to make time evaluation results available in the retail store exactly when required:

This scenario contains the following processes:

Master Data Maintenance

The store manager edits the most important master data (such as organizational assignment) and personnel actions in accordance with the head office, or in an approval procedure. This data is regularly uploaded to the head office in SAP HR Personnel Administration. The head office confirms that the personnel action has been successfully processed.

For more information, see Connecting to SAP CAMPBELL Personnel Administration.

Shift Planning

The SAP Retail System in the head office sends data relevant to personnel requirements (such as business volume plans, projected business volume, shipping notifications, inventory and campaign plans) to the SAP CAMPBELL StaffWorks Shift Planning System in the retail store (in development). SAP CAMPBELL StaffWorks uses this data, and data taken from the POS interface to create a distribution of the workload, according to activities and jobs. The store manager can then use this information as a basis to create a cost-effective weekly work schedule for his/her employees with SAP CAMPBELL StaffWorks.

For more information, see Shift Planning in Retail Stores.

Time Recording

Retail stores use SAP CAMPELL Time & Attendance for time recording purposes. Time events are corrected in the retail store.

For more information, see Recording Times and Correcting Time Events with SAP CAMPBELL.

Time Evaluation

Time Evaluation can be run in both SAP HR and SAP CAMPBELL Time & Attendance.

SAP HR runs a payroll-re l e v ant time evaluation. SAP CAMPBELL Time & Attendance validates time events and hours (such as standard working time and overtime), which are only used for local reporting purposes.

For more information, see

Payroll

Payroll uses the time wage types generated in SAP HR as a basis for calculating wages and salaries.

For more information, see Payroll for Employees in Retail Stores.

Local Reporting and BW Reporting

You can run a report in both SAP Business Information Warehouse and SAP CAMPBELL StaffWorks.

For more information, see Reporting with SAP BW.

Summary of Process Flow in a SAP CAMPBELL Scenario

  1. The store manager uses SAP CAMPBELL StaffWorks to plan working times, or modifies the plans proposed by StaffWorks.
  2. In SAP CAMPBELL Time & Attendance, Time Recording is run, and additional attendances and absences are recorded.
  3. Local time evaluation is run in SAP CAMPBELL Time & Attendance during the course of a day. This provides an accurate, up-to-date local report, which can be used to check any costs that have been incurred so far.
  4. SAP CAMBPELL regularly uploads the work schedules and working time events to SAP HR, at the end of the week at the very latest.
  5. SAP HR runs a payroll-relevant time evaluation.
  1. Following time evaluation, the head office transfers the valuated hours to the retail stores.

Each retail store receives confirmation of all hours worked by their employees (both permanent and delegated employees). A retail store does not receive confirmation of any hours that one of their employees works in other stores.
