Reporting with SAP BW

Purpose

The store manager has several reporting options at his/her disposal, especially for employees’ shifts and business volume. In contrast to reports in SAP CAMPBELL StaffWorks, which are restricted to figures from one retail store, a report in SAP Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW) can be run to include each individual store. SAP BW integrates the data from different SAP applications, and thus provides an enterprise-wide overview.

You can evaluate the following data:

SAP BW contains statistics and reports from practically every SAP application. For example, Payroll transfers wage and salary information to SAP BW. A user role or authorization concept is used to regulate access to data stored in SAP BW.

For more information, see the documentation provided on SAP Business Information Warehouse.

Prerequisites

Process Flow

  1. During the week, retail stores regularly (for example, on a daily basis) upload the following data to SAP BW:

It is possible that the data in SAP BW will not be up-to-date until the next upload of data, as data may have been changed in the retail store. For example, the store manager may edit data relating to the previous working day.

  1. Depending on their level of responsibility, role holders can access data in SAP BW. You can also evaluate by level - such as by store, by region, or by any company code, for example.
  2. The data in SAP BW is updated when you next upload data.
  3. Optional: If you use a business scenario that runs payroll-relevant time evaluation in SAP HR, ( SAP CAMPBELL scenario), you can regularly download time evaluation results from SAP HR to the retail stores.

The SAP HR Time Evaluation results overwrite SAP CAMPBELL Time & Attendance Time Evaluation results in the retail store. They are then uploaded to SAP BW, and can be used in reports.
